Jamoflage Percussion company makes custom frame drums with beautiful henna designs on the skin.

JAMOFLAGE frame drums are created with the professional musician in mind. The blonde wood shells are made of 10-ply Maple, a hardwood chosen for its sonic quality and durability. The natural goat skins are put on by hand, in the tradition of centuries of drum making.

THE ARTISTRY

The designs on the frame drum skin are made of Henna, a dye which has been used in the decorative arts for thousands of years . Following this ancient tradition, JAMOFLAGE uses henna to create a varity of artistic designs. The subtle abalone inlays and the decorative ribbons add a personal touch to these drums that cannot be found in the mass produced market.

On this site you can see movie clips of each drum being played. Each drum is unique and we feel that being able to see and hear each drum is the best way to decide which one is best for you. In addition, you can custom order a drum of a specific size and specify which design you would like on it, just contact us and we will make it just for you.

CARE
Do not store in direct sunlight. Do not allow the drum to get wet. The natural skins respond to humidity and have a higher pitch on days that are less humid. The drum skins are thin goat skins and are meant to be played with hands only, we have never experienced a skin breaking when played by hand, however, the skins may break if played with a stick or other beater.
To display the drum and provide a beautiful ambient lighting, mount it with a low wattage (7 w.), low temperature light behind it,(not touching the skin).
